Customized Lenses
for Your Visual Needs
‍
‍
At Urban Eyecare we focus not only on luxury eyewear but the lens technology within, serving up the best digital lenses available, without compromise. We work closely with labs in designing lenses specifically for our patients. Just like with your frames, lenses are recommended based on prescription and lifestyle, and to maintain the best aesthetics while providing equally as crisp vision. Your vision is our mission.
We’ve created packages of our most popular products, ranging from single vision anti-fatigue to multifocals, and everything in between. We prefer to not compromise on quality, recommending Trivex as a substrate material, digital surfaced designs, bluelight protection, and two year warranties on our premium anti-reflective coatings. You’ve only got two eyes, treat them well.
Customization is the spice of life and we want you to make these lenses yours. Whether you’re looking for a little bit of custom tinting, polarized mirrors and matte mirrors, polarized gradients, transition colors or gradient transitions, we have a vast variety of options to choose from.
Lessons in Lenses
-
CR-39: Basic plastic provides a thick lens with good optical properties but limited impact resistance. We do not recommend this material for safety reasons.
Polycarbonate: Thinner and lighter but with poorer clarity than CR-39. Superior impact resistance makes this a great choice for safety eyewear.
Trivex: Light weight with superior impact resistance properties and better optical qualities than poly. This is the lens of choice within our optical for daily wear lenses.
High Index: Thinner and lighter materials that allow us to thin out higher prescriptions. Recommended for higher prescription to give lenses a more appealing look and increase comfort by decreasing lens weight.

Anti-Reflective: Multilayer coating protecting against glare, scratches, and smudges. AR makes your eyes more visible to others while stopping unwanted reflections. We offer 1-2year no questions asked scratch warranties and protection against harmful UV rays. Choices of gold, silver, green, blue, or clear AR coatings.
Polarization: Limits the angle of reflections able to pass through your lenses, reducing glare, and making your eyes more comfortable during activities. Great for fishing, golfing, or any other outdoor activity requiring hyper-vigilent acuity.
Transitions: Darken when exposed to UV light. Great for those who frequently go from indoors to outdoors and do not want to carry a second pair of sunglasses. The newest Transitions coatings include new colors, flash mirrors, and increased blue light protection
Mirror and Flash Coatings: Personalize your lenses with unique transparent and fully reflective mirror options, from mild to wild and everything in between. Choose from preconfigured options or create your own to best suit your style and needs
Sun Tint: Turn any pair of glasses into sunglasses or create your own perfect shades. With over 300 days of sun, we recommend at least one pair of prescription sunglasses. SPF for your eyes.
Clip On Sunglasses: Your choice of hardware color with full tint and mirror options. Create your own custom sun clip to perfectly complement your glasses
On-Site Optical Lab
At Urban Eyecare Uptown, we feature an on site laboratory to provide precision craftsmanship and faster turnaround times for your eyewear needs. This affords us the unique ability to schedule a lens replacement in office for patients who can not give up their frames as well as offer ~24hr turn around on single vision stock jobs, ordered before 11am.
Repair and refurbishment Services
Whether you have a few scratches on your frames, fido sunk their teeth into them, or you’ve snapped your frame and need a repair, we offer a full range of acetate repair from basic polishing to filling holes and reviving dried materials. Nose pads can be added to any frame for a better fit.
