Our Mission

is great vision. We exist to make you see and look great. You deserve to see the world and never miss a beat so we're here to keep those magnificent peepers in tip top shape. We aim to introduce you to independent eyewear, the designers behind them, and the stories that make them unique. Each hand finished block of acetate and metal is as unique as yourself. While the frames may be art in themselves - it’s you that brings them to life. In addition we offer contact lens services ranging from daily soft lenses to Ortho-Keratology and medically necessary specialty lenses.

The Why

From our own experience we understand how healthcare as a whole feels a lot less like a smooth and positive experience and more like a epic battle between appointment times, follow up times, insureres, doctors, copays, and every other step of the process. It’s become less about the person and more about metrics, overbooking, profit margins, limited staffing, etc. We’re here to bring back patient focused healthcare. 30 minute appointments, the entire examine performed by a doctor, always on time schedules, and personalized service. We follow a hospitality model rather than a hospital model. We’re always available, we’re here to help, and we love that you’re part of the Urban Eyecare family.

Dr. Jason Klepfisz...

grew up in New York and received his bachelors in biology from the University of Massachusetts followed by his doctorate from the Arizona college of Optometry. Postgraduate-residency was completed through the Southern California College of Optometry at the Zuni New Mexico Indian Health Service hospital where Dr. Klepfisz trained in primary care and ocular disease. In his spare time he enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding, and learning. You can often catch him trail running at the Phoenix Mountain Preserve or down central Avenue. Dr. Klepfisz married his now wife, Emily, in 2019. Jay and Emily live in central Phoenix with their 2 young daughters, Riley and Scarlett. The commoditization of health care has inspired the doctor to take a step back and offer a unique boutique approach to managing your ocular health and visual demands.

Dr. Klepfisz is currently a member of the Arizona chapter of the American Academy of Optometry and Arizona chapter of the American Optometric Association. He is the state representative for Young ODs of America and runs a consulting group to help doctors create their own amazing practices. He is certified to fit both gas perm, orthokeratology, and scleral lenses.

Your good decisions allow us to give back to our community

When you invest in the community, the community invests in you

Urban Eyecare allocates money yearly to support local nonprofits. Over the years we have supported local orgs from farmers markets and food pantries to safe spaces for woman with children experiencing domestic violence, woman’s rights, LGBTQ+ support orgs, organizations hoping to cure specific diseases, and teachers around the Valley. We work diligently to support the local arts community through donations, sponsorships, our artist cloth program and more.
